Hello,

Could anyone help me find a ajax live search tutorial with a progress bar.
I dont want it to be true "live", the result should come up after a press on "Submit" and while it gets the results a animated gif or something could show up. I know I have seen alot of these, but cant find any examples right now.

Thanks!

Welcome to this forum,

if you use prototype or scriptaculous you can refresh entire divs using ajax, this includes search results.

search and thy will find ... Smile

What you might want to do is just add a div where you want the progress animation to show up.
Code:
<div id="progress" style="display:none"><img .../></div>

Then when you want it to show up and hide just use these functions:
Code:
function hideProgress(){
  p = document.getElementById('progress');
  p.style.display = "none";
}
function showProgress(){
  p = document.getElementById('progress');
  p.style.display = "block";
}

No real need for Ajax here, it's just nice to show the user that something is happening ^^
Anyway go to http://www.ajaxload.info/ for a nice generator of those animations. Hope this helps Very Happy
