Hi,

I have a problem. Who knows how to implement a "loading image", like the ones that can be found at www.ajaxload.info ?

Would it be as simple as this ?

Code:
 <span id="Country"><img src="ajax-loader.gif" /></span>

if in the span the ajax postback information is published. ?

i want it to show the image when collection the states from the database at this url;

http://www.terrababy.nl/web2.0/country_vb2.php

Regards,

D.J

DJ, what lib are you using for your Ajax call?

AjaxCFC is DWR based so I made a change to the DWR engine that would let me define how to specify the div via a common name. It looks something like this:

DWRUtil.useLoadingImage("/images/ajax-loader.gif");
DWREngine._execute(_ajaxConfig._cfscriptLocation, null, 'publishFeed', fid, doEchoResult);

The above is my XHR request which turns on my image div and loads the image tag with the name of the image on the fly:

<div id="disabledImageZone" style="position:absolute; margin-bottom: 10px; visibility: hidden; z-index: 1;"><img id="imageZone" src=""></div>

Then, when readystate 4 is reach and my callback function is run, the div is overwritten by my message but I could have easily just turned it off and destroyed it.

HTH.

Hey rey.

thx for yr answer. i followed the same logic as you, although i work with innerhtml and another library from dynamicdrive.

Can't get it to work Sad maybe i should switch to a library where loading image is defaultly supported.

DJ,

How heavy of a framework do you need? If you need something light and easy to implement, check these out:

JSMX from http://www.lalabird.com/. It has the processing image capability that you mentioned and is VERY easy to implement.

JQuery: http://jquery.com/ - Has gotten LOTS of positive feedback and is very well supported

moo.fx: http://moofx.mad4milk.net/ - a UI lib but uses a lite versionof prototype to do basic Ajax stuff.
